Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), established in 1957 by philanthropist Late Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar, is a Government Aided Autonomous Institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE. TCE offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs in Engineering, Architecture, and Science. Situated in a serene, eco-friendly campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure, TCE embraces continuous reforms in teaching and learning processes. Key initiatives include Competency-Based Curriculum, Outcome-Based Education, and the adoption of the CDIO framework in 2018, providing hands-on training to students. In 2021, TCE introduced Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to enhance digital learning.TCE maintains active collaborations with leading global organizations, resulting in industry-oriented curriculum design, advanced laboratories, professional training programs, internships, and placements. The institution also engages in sponsored research projects funded by AICTE, DST, DRDO, and UGC, supporting innovative technologies and advanced research facilities. TCE's dedication to excellence is further highlighted by the Thiagarajar Research Fellowship (TRF) for Ph.D. scholars and its NAAC accreditation with a CGPA of 3.56 (out of 4.0), earning an A++ Grade in Cycle 2.
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering was established in the year of 2016. At present, the department offers B.E. Mechatronics and doctoral studies. The department aims at producing talented Mechatronics engineering specialists who cater to the needs of the relevant industries. The faculty members in the department are doing research projects from major funding agencies such as DST, UGC, CVRDE and AICTE. With publications and patents in allied domains, the faculty is equipped with world class skills. The department has full-fledged laboratories to carry out research and consultancy projects in the Mechatronics engineering field. State-of-the art facilities in the laboratories encourage students to carry out research in the areas of Robotics and Automation, Sensors, Internet of Things (IoT), Thermal Management in Engineering Applications and drones
The International Conference on AI-Driven Robotics, Automation and Smart Manufacturing (ARASM 2027), organized by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, is a premier platform that aims to bring together researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and innovators from across the globe. The conference focuses on exploring the latest advancements and future directions in the rapidly evolving fields of intelligent robotics, industrial automation, and smart manufacturing systems.
ARASM 2027 is designed to encourage the exchange of ideas, research findings, and technological innovations that address real-world challenges in modern engineering and manufacturing. The conference provides an opportunity for participants to present their work, engage in technical discussions, and build collaborations that bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The event will feature keynote sessions by eminent experts, technical paper presentations, and discussions on emerging topics such as autonomous systems, machine learning in automation, cyber-physical systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research and innovation, the conference aims to foster knowledge sharing and promote advancements that contribute to the development of intelligent and sustainable engineering solutions.
